32 Winds Wine Offer

A boutique winery... saving the world from mediocre wine and having fun while doing it.

Their Philosophy

Sharing their environment where quality, individual growth, friendship and good times are all cultivated, lie at their foundation.

They take this to heart with the vinification of their award-winning wines, the shared experiences that surround them, and the friendships they forge. These values, along with their stewardship of the land, are at their core. They love their home in Healdsburg, love their wine and look forward to sharing it all with you.

The Winery

32 Winds is a small family established winery, committed to making exceptional wines, located in Dry Creek Valley two miles from the Healdsburg Plaza. The winery and tasting room is nestled alongside the Dry Creek stream, a spawning preserve for Coho salmon and Steelhead trout.

They produce approximately 2500 cases per year of award-winning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet and Zinfandel from hand-selected vineyards in the AVA's of West Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley, Napa Valley, and Dry Creek Valley. The wines have received recognition (and 90+ ratings) in Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, and are served in fine restaurants, luxury resorts, and clubs from Santa Barbara to New York City.

32 Winds operations began as owner Ed Mascarin partnered with industry-renowned winemaker Ehren Jordan in 2008. The two worked together for nearly 10 years to create a foundation for their world-class wines. In late 2015, Jordan handed over the reins, and the winery was thrilled to welcome winemaker Matt Taylor to the team! Taylor’s impressive career highlights a knowledge of winemaking and vineyards that are the perfect fit to build on 32 Wind’s passion for creating only the finest of wines.

The symbol also reflects the 32 points of the nautical compasses used by the first adventurers and explorers seeking the finest flavors and experiences the world had to offer...we continue that tradition with all we do today.

The Wines

2017 Rosé of Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
The 32 Winds 2017 Rosé of Pinot Noir is a vibrant, bright rosé made from 100% Single Vineyard Pinot Noir from the Seven Mules Vineyard owned by the Martinelli Family. This rosé is purposefully delicate, floral and light in color, due to minimal skin contact.

Packed with lots of strawberry and black raspberry liqueur, this wine is balanced by bright minerality, crushed rocks and delicate flowers. It is the perfect wine for sipping on a hot summer day and accompanies a wide variety of food.

2017 Sauvignon Blanc, Dry Creek Valley
The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc comes from a small vineyard just a stone’s throw from the winery in the heart of Dry Creek Valley. The area is famous for its fertile soil, perfect climate and geography for growing world-class grapes. The wine spent five months, split into two different vessels – neutral French oak, and a concrete egg, giving the finished wine a beautiful, almost savory mouthfeel.

In the glass, aromas of lemon & lime lead into beautiful flavors of melon on the mid-palate, and a hint of floral spice toward the finish. This Sauvignon Blanc is driven by its firm acidity but it also has an interesting salinity to balance the ample fruit of the outstanding vintage. This is a true tribute to Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc.

2014 Chardonnay, Spinnaker, Russian River Valley
The fruit for the 2014 Spinnaker Chardonnay was sourced from Olivet Lane, and Ulysses Valdez’s Lucky Wells Vineyard. The fruit was hand-harvested, de-stemmed, crushed and transferred to French oak barrels, approximately 30% of which were new. It was aged on the lees for 11 months with occasional batonnage.

The 2014 Spinnaker Chardonnay displays flavors and aromas of Granny Smith apples, pears, quince, lemon curd and vanilla. It also possesses our trademark vibrant acidity and lovely textural mouthfeel.

On the mid-palate one will experience a great mouthfeel of more black cherries, cola and a bit of plum. The wine finishes like a great burgundy with subtle touches of vanilla.

2014 Pinot Noir, Lucky Well UV, Sonoma Coast
The Lucky Well Vineyard was planted in the fall of 2007 by Ulysses Valdez (hence the "UV" in the wine's name). The vineyard itself lies in the rolling hills approximately 3 miles to the north of Occidental and just a few miles inland from the Pacific Ocean on the "true" Sonoma Coast. The vineyard is ideally located above the fog line to maximize sunlight for ripening, but in a cool enough location to ensure a long growing season - prime for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals. It is an organically dry-farmed vineyard with tightly planted vines, and the vines are planted to Pommard & Swan clones. This gives the wine a beautiful dense garnet rose color with lovely pink rim variation.

The nose is pretty with floral notes of rose and violet; just absolutely beautiful, with aromatics of sweet fruit and cola spice. On the palate, the cola spice carries through and is joined by raspberry and attractive notes of cherry pie, baked cranberry and blackberry cobbler. The finish is vibrant and focused due to its bright acidity. Delicious!

2014 Pinot Noir, Maestro, Sonoma Coast
The fruit source for the Maestro Pinot Noir is the 11-year-old Sonoma Stage vineyard, located at the southern tip of the Sonoma Coast Appellation. This vineyard is organically farmed and planted to the heritage clones of Swan and Calera. The grapes were hand-harvested, de-stemmed and transferred to open top fermenters. With manual daily punch-downs, the grapes went through primary and malolactic fermentation using native yeasts. The wine was aged in French oak barrels, 35-40% of which were new, for 11 months.

This wine is a gorgeous garnet color with an earthy meatiness on the nose. Spicy berry welcomes you with sweet juicy Santa Rosa plum sliding in along with dark Hudson cherry and ripe strawberry. Hints of clove and anise roll throughout from first taste to silky finish. You can sense its age worthiness based on the balanced youthfulness of the exuberant fruit, giving it all the elements for yet even more complexity evolving - very unique for a Russian River Pinot Noir.

2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, Diamond Mountain Napa Valley
The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon is made from a wonderful, single vineyard fruit source on Diamond Mountain in the Napa Valley. The vineyard is over 30 years old and consequently does not produce a high volume of fruit, instead the lower yielding vines produce much more concentrated, powerfully intense fruit…exactly what you need for a great cabernet. The grapes were hand-harvested in the middle of October, de-stemmed and transferred to closed-top fermenters, where the skins and juice remained in contact for an extended maceration. The juice was then pressed off and moved directly to Taransaud French oak barrels, 75% of which were new, and aged for 21 months.

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon displays flavors and aromas of black cherries, espresso, black currants, Cassis and dark cocoa. It has fine, well-integrated tannins, a great mineral backbone and nice bright acidity.
