CLUB UPDATE

Let's Keep Our Greens Looking Great

Lately, we have been noticing an increase of ball marks on greens that have either not been fixed, or that have been fixed improperly. Our Golf Staff has noticed this gets worse in the afternoon after caddies are not required.

We want to remind all Members that fixing your ball mark is your responsibility and absolutely necessary to keep the Golf Course in the best possible condition. Please take a few minutes to watch the video below to learn how to properly repair your ball marks.

Upcoming Course Closure

Please be advised that the Course & Club will be closed for a Member-sponsored private event on Monday, September 9, but will be open for regular service throughout the Club on Tuesday, September 10.

Water Bottle Reduction

Mayacama is pleased to share that since bottled water was eliminated almost exactly one year ago, more than 8,000 16oz bottles have been saved. That is approximately four full pallets of plastic bottles. We appreciate your support over the last year to assist us in reducing unnecessary waste.

Sip N' Swing

Friday, August 30 | 4 - 6:30PM

Join us for this fun, casual golf event which is open to Social Members and guests too. Our Sip N' Swing event begins with a 4:00 pm shotgun start, followed by a dinner buffet on the Dining Room Terrace. The format for this event is a six-person, 9-hole scramble. Make your own team of six or sign up individually and we will pair you with a group. Participants will enjoy a specialty cocktail and sip summer wines on some of the holes. Even if you aren't able to play in the Sip N' Swing, make plans to meet up with the players and enjoy a fun dinner with your fellow Members.

Women's Summer Lesson Series

Thursdays, August 1, 15 & 29

Mayacama and Assistant Golf Professional Chelsa Helget are pleased to announce a summer lesson series for all female Members of Mayacama. This lesson series is designed to bring together women of all golf skill levels. The lesson series will take place on Thursdays, August 1, 15 & 29 from 11am to Noon. This is a great opportunity for women to meet each other, hone their golf skills and play more golf. The lesson rate of $120 per hour will be divided amongst participants. If seven or more attend, the rate is $20 per participant.

The Annual Championships of Mayacama Golf Club

The Professional-Member

Mayacama Golf Club cordially invites you to participate in the 16th playing of The Professional-Member Invitational. If you are a member of another golf club, we encourage you to invite the Golf Professional from that club to play as your partner. If not, Mayacama Golf Club will be pleased to pair our Members with a local Golf Professional. Our Professional-Member Invitational is the last of our “Majors” for the year and it has become one of our most popular events at the Club.

PGA Junior League

Wednesday - Friday, August 7 - 9

Mayacama Juniors are invited to join Mayacama PGA Jr. League Captains, Ted Antonopoulos, Zach Makilan, Chelsa Helget and Hayden Stratton for three-days of PGA Jr. League preparation. Training is open to all Juniors ages 9 - 13. After basic calisthenics each day, Juniors will learn full swing, putting, chipping and pitching techniques, along with golf etiquette, rules of golf, sportsmanship, integrity, and compassion. The last day of the camp will include a PGA Jr. League Match, followed by an Awards Luncheon for the Junior's. Open to the first 30 Juniors who sign up.
