Dear Members,
With the arrival of the Holiday Season, it is appropriate that we take the time to thank you all for your continued support throughout this past year. It was indeed a banner year and one that we are very proud of. We welcomed 23 new Members to the Club in 2015 and 4 families, who were already Members, decided to upgrade their membership type by becoming Residence Club Members. As you know, each and every membership sale is vital to growing our club operations so please know how much we appreciate your continued referrals.
On behalf of the entire staff at Mayacama, we would also like to thank you for recognizing the team by means of the Holiday Fund! Your thoughtful and generous donations have contributed to the employees' enjoyment of the holiday season. The staff would like to wish everyone a happy, prosperous, and joyful new year ahead!
2015 YEAR IN REVIEW
Occupancy levels have never been higher than in 2015, our restaurant had its strongest year ever, and golf course operations also enjoyed a very busy year with over 17,000 rounds. The bunker renovation program, which began earlier this year, has been met with excitement and we expect to complete all of the course bunkers by the summer of 2016. We continue to maintain the golf course in Championship form, ensuring consistent and excellent turf conditions in addition to improving the appearance around the course. As many of you know, we completed construction this past summer on the Villa just to the left of the 3rd tee. From those who have stayed in this Villa, we have received a lot of positive feedback regarding the aesthetic changes made to this unit. In the Clubhouse, we were able to remodel the Kids' Playroom which has been met warmly by all parents...and grandparents!
Although we witnessed a bit of personnel turnover in 2015, losing managers from the Spa and Residence Club, we were able to promote from within and we are happy to report great success with these promotions. In the Spa D’Arcy Connich became our new Spa Manager and Danny Hildebrand became our Residence Club Director with Shoshanna Zesati as our Residence Club Supervisor. Many of you may recall last year at about this time, we announced long-time staffer, Rebekah Reynoso as our Private Events Manager and we are happy to report she broke our previous revenue record in only her first year as Manager! Great job Rebekah! Additionally, Melinda Murray recently finished her first full year as our Activities Director. Melinda has done a great job taking over the Summer Camps and she would like you to stay tuned for some fun activities that we will introduce to the program for both kids and grown-ups!
OUTLOOK FOR 2016
We are all eagerly anticipating and planning for the growth of the Club in the coming year and look forward to making some very important capital improvements - some of which you will notice and other "behind the scenes" equipment items that are also very vital to your enjoyment of the Club. We are putting together a comprehensive plan for needed improvements throughout the property and we will share this news with you as they are implemented.
Probably the most exciting news is that we expect to begin construction on future units for the Villa Collection Program in the early part of 2016. You may have already noticed the clearing of shrubs and trees in the area just past the employee parking lot to make way for more Villas. The architect has incorporated improvements we added to the newest Villa in addition to other enhancements that will accommodate a luxurious Wine Country lifestyle. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in getting a glimpse of floor plans and artist illustrations for two new Villa plans.
Mayacama is happy to report there will be no dues increase for the Golf Club operations in 2016. Although we are probably looking at a rainy “El Nino” year and funding our first full year of healthcare increases, we are confident we have created a budget for 2016 that does not necessitate a dues increase. We are looking forward to another great year of memorable experiences and exciting events here at Mayacama in 2016. We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you soon!
