Annual Letter & 2023 Dues Structure

Dear Members,

From your Mayacama family we wish all of you a wonderful holiday season and are hopeful that many of you have been able to spend time with loved ones and family.  We are truly grateful for your support this past year and have been delighted to see many familiar faces from around the world returning to the Club, some of whom we haven’t seen for more than two years. We also thank you for your generous contribution to the employee holiday fund, this donation means a great deal to our 170 employees who strive to make Mayacama the special place that we all enjoy.

All of us are thrilled that 2022 began a return to a sense of normalcy after 2 years of pandemic-related challenges. This past year we welcomed 41 new Members to Mayacama from 6 different states, we greatly appreciate our Members who introduced their friends to the Club helping us grow from within.

We could not be more excited about the continuing expansion and reinvestment being made throughout the property. The next round of Villas is well underway with the first units being completed in the Spring of 2023, we are also excited about the addition of the Residence Club pool and spa. The Bar & Grill remodel will begin the first week of January with an expected completion date of June 1st. This reimagined space will better serve our growing Membership and allow us to utilize the formal dining room on a more regular basis as well for a variety of culinary experiences.

In addition to the bar remodel, we plan to resurface the hitting areas of the driving range and short game area this Spring, along with adding a performance center for teaching and club fittings. Our plan over the next 2 years will be a complete renovation of the practice areas, and upper and lower putting greens which will provide additional opportunities for our members to fine-tune their games. Finally, we are going to develop plans for a “Junior Clubhouse” in the area near the Swim and Tennis facilities that can better serve our young adults and even those Members with a childish spirit! With good fortune this will be ready for the 2024 summer season and will be another space for our Members and their families to enjoy.

As we all have experienced rising costs in just about every item we use day to day, Sonoma County in particular has seen a significant increase in costs and wages. In our 2023 budget virtually all employees at Mayacama will earn an hourly wage of $20 or above making sure we stay competitive in our local market as we continue to make sure all departments are fully staffed with high quality team members.  As a result, we are raising dues by 8% this year which is in line with our local CPI. Below is a schedule of dues for all membership categories.

Again, we thank you all for your support throughout this past year and we look forward to the future and all that 2023 promises to bring.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Wilhelm
Managing Partner
