Please join us in congratulating our very own Brooks Bultemeier, who honors all of us by being named the Northern California PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year!

The NCPGA Assistant Professional of the Year Award is designed to recognize a PGA Assistant Professional for their overall performance in leadership, service to the Section and community and promotion of the game of golf.

In our case, Brooks has provided us so much more. He has taken an active role in all aspects of our Golf Operation, and has helped us capitalize on the recent growth in the game by creating programs for our new golfers with the end goal of keeping them in the game and growing our sport. Brooks continues to be an inspiration to all of us, and his positive attitude and enthusiasm for the game is contagious!

In the case of the NCPGA Section, Brooks has served as Co-Chairman of the Assistants Apprentice Division of the Section, creating playing and educational opportunities to members of the Association. This is just another way of giving back to the game.

We applaud Brooks as the recipient of this prestigious award. His passion for the game and for our Club makes him an invaluable asset to us as a Professional and to the game that we all love.

The Assistants Cup Matches are held bi-annually between the Northern California PGA and Southern California PGA in a Ryder Cup-style event. Each team is composed of the top 10 Assistant Professionals in each region as well as two Captain's picks.

This year, Team NorCal achieved the tall order of retaining the Cup on SoCal turf at Pechenga Resort in Temecula, CA on November 8 & 9.

The team, complete with Playing Captain Brooks Bultemeier and Cup Match veteran Zach Makilan (3-0 in 2021 Matches) helped lead the team to 12 points, returning the Cup to Northern California.

Mayacama Assistant Golf Professional, Sean O’Shea, shoots -5, 67 to win the Galvin Green Pro-Am at Sonoma Golf Club. This was the best score of Sean’s young career, please join us to congratulate him on the superb play.

Thanks to our amazing Golf Course Maintenance crew, we are excited to share that the #3 forward tee box has been improved and expanded. It has nearly doubled in size and trees have been trimmed for increased playability. We hope the improvements add to your enjoyment of your round.
