We wanted to update you on a few modifications that we’re making to the Golf Program as we enter the new year. In 2020 we had to adjust many of our Golf Customs as a result of Covid restrictions. However, it was never our intention to lose sight of the fact that at Mayacama, Golf is a “walking” game. To support that custom, we will be making the following adjustments to our Golf Program in the New Year to reestablish the walking only tradition upon which our Club was founded. We appreciate your support of one of our founding principles of walking whenever you can when playing a round of golf at Mayacama.

Golf Cars

Golf Cars will continue to be available to Members and their guests who are over the age of 65 or are unable to walk the golf course. All other Members may utilize a golf car after noon (1:00 pm during daylight saving time). These changes will go into effect on Monday, January 18.

Walk & Carry/ Trolleys

Members may continue to walk and carry their clubs at ANY TIME, and for the foreseeable future, trolleys will continue to be permitted.

Caddies

While we do not require Caddies for Members at this time, we are grateful to those of you who continue to utilize our Caddie Program for your game. Your support has enabled us to sustain our Caddie Program through this difficult time. We will continue to ask that when you do wish to utilize the services of a Caddie, kindly make your request when you book your starting time online or by calling the Golf Shop (707-569-2915) or the Caddie Office (707-569-2911). We also request that all Members utilize the services of a Caddie when bringing guests to the Club prior to noon (1:00 pm during daylight saving time).

Starting Times

Starting times continue to be necessary for all of us because of the increased demand for Golf. So that we may provide the most equitable access to the Golf Course for as many Members as possible, please observe the following protocol for Starting Time reservations:

• Members may reserve Starting Times up to 7 days in advance.
• No more than three reservations may be made during the 7-day window.
• Members may book one Starting Time per day for purposes of equity.
• Please have your games organized when making your booking. TBA’s should either be filled in with the actual names of the players three days prior to your reservation or released so that other Members may book.
• Groups of less than four players may be paired with other Mayacama Members, either in advance or on the day of play.
• Singles and two-balls should expect to be paired with other Members on busy days.
• Members MUST advise the Club in advance whenever they need to cancel their starting time.

We enjoyed a record number of Members playing the game at Mayacama in 2020 and also welcomed new players to the game. We look forward to continuing those trends in 2021 and appreciate your support in maintaining our Club Customs…some old and some new as we continue to grow the game at Mayacama while upholding the Club Customs upon which we were founded.
