Dear Members,
It is with a tremendously heavy heart that I am submitting my resignation from Mayacama Golf Club to you today. I have been given a unique opportunity to be the General Manager at Nanea Golf Club on the Big Island of Hawaii where my goal is to finish my career there over the next few decades. This decision was a very difficult one to make for our family as my wife was born and raised right here in Santa Rosa and I have now lived here in the Bay Area for 25 years. I have been lucky enough to call Mayacama my home and it’s been part of my family for over 14 years. However, Hawaii holds a very special place in our lives not only because we were married there but it has been a dream of ours to retire there someday as well. Nanea has provided an unbelievable opportunity for me and my family and we felt the time was right to make the move. Meanwhile, I will still be here at your service through May 11th.
For the last 14 years, I have given my best effort every day to serve this amazing membership. It has been an honor to be here and getting to know so many of you over the years. I am so appreciative for all that I have learned and for helping build what I firmly know will be a legacy to last for generations to come. Our staff has always felt it was our duty to maintain this Club to the highest standards and be proud of what Mayacama is as an employer. I firmly believe we all, including you as members, must carry the same responsibilities. My hope is that you are all proud of our accomplishments. Our team of hardworking staff is a close-knit family and you as members have the opportunity to make a difference in their lives by thanking them for their efforts.
I thank everyone for the opportunity to serve you and of course, I thank our staff for working tirelessly so you can enjoy your time with us at every moment, every day. If I have had any success, it is solely because of them. They truly deserve a round of applause. It was a privilege and an honor working with some of the best in our industry and I’ve made friendships that I know will last a lifetime. And finally, my wife and I thank Jonathan Wilhelm and his family for giving me a chance and believing in me. I worked very closely with Jonathan for over 14 years and he cares more about this Club and our membership than most of you will ever know. He is beyond supportive as the leader of Mayacama and is an incredibly generous and caring soul. Jonathan and his wife Jessica are the godparents of our daughter and they will forever be in our hearts as best friends.
I will miss everyone and everything about Mayacama and will always cherish the time I have spent with you all. Thank you again for opportunity!
