The stone facades for the Bar & Grill fireplaces are currently under construction and coming along great!

Our famous Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt is just around the corner! Due to the clubhouse construction effort, space is limited. Therefore, be sure to book your reservations as soon as possible as this is one of the most popular events here at Mayacama.

The Murray family of Flambeaux Wine has a storied history in New Orleans and they truly know how to throw an amazing Mardi Gras party. So, come on down and let's make this new event an annual tradition at Mayacama!

A very special menu has been created by our Executive Chef Scott Pikey, and Vito Parente, Italian native and Wine Specialist for the Jackson Family portfolio of Italian Wines will co-host the dinner. Share six great wines from Tuscany including three Sangiovese based reds and three Super Tuscan wines made with Bordeaux varietals. Five of the wines were produced by Pierre Seillan of Bordeaux and Verite, winemaker of the most 100 point wines in the last seven years.

Dinner is $95 ++ and will feature a meet and greet in the living room with a glass of Prosecco from 6:00-6:30. Dinner will begin promptly at 7:00.  Reservations will be required. Please note: There will be no ala carte dinner served that evening.

We are excited to announce that the Mayacama PGA Jr. League Program is open and ready for registrations! We would love for your juniors to join us for our second year in the league. The Mayacama Professional Staff will conduct organized team practice sessions, along with regular matches held within the league. Juniors will enjoy meeting new friends as we host a home match, and travel for an away match with every team in the league. Last year the participating  clubs included Windsor Golf Club, Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club and The Fountaingrove Club.  Our first match will begin in June, with our last match finishing up at the end of July.

The NCGA Zone Championship is a four-person team event for regular clubs. Fourteen Regional Championships are staged, and the Champion and Runner-up of each Regional Championship qualifies for the NCGA Zone Championship Finals at Spyglass Hill GC and Poppy Hills  at the end of August.

FORMAT: Best two balls of four players. 

MAYACAMA LOCAL QUALIFYING :
Local Qualifying Scores must be posted before Thursday, March 28.

With your team of four players, post a score at Mayacama using the Two-Best-Net-Balls of Four format. This score must be posted before Thursday, March 28th. The lowest team score will represent Mayacama in the NCGA Zone Championship at Poppy Hills and Bayonet/Blackhorse GC, to be played on Monday and Tuesday, April 15 & 16. The $640 Team Entry Fee for the Zone Championship will be divided amongst all of the teams attempting to qualify.

REGIONAL SITES: Poppy Hills GC & Bayonet/Black Horse GC
The 36-hole Regional Zone qualifying be played at Poppy Hills GC and Bayonet/Black Horse GC. The top two teams from each regional zone will compete for the NCGA Zone Championship at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill GC on August 26-27.

For aeration this Spring we will be enacting two different processes that will allow us to achieve our goals while minimizing impacts to play. Topdressing will still happen and is a vital component of our processes but the ‘coring’ of the green will not happen as normal. Instead we will be injecting oxygen deep into the root zone. It not only puts oxygen where it is needed, the root zone, but does so in a way that is far less disruptive to the surface of the green, in other words, fewer holes. The second process allows us to inject sand and amendments four inches into the soil profile and while there will be holes created in doing so there will be far less of them.

We continue to focus on improving our aeration techniques and have been putting forth a lot of effort to improve playability immediately after aeration. There will always be certain effects from what we do for aeration but with our new processes in place we expect normal playing conditions to return in two weeks or less.
