Dear Members,We’re excited to announce the opening of the Pool Center on Wednesday, May 2. Please come visit soon and you’ll notice we have replaced all of the pool furniture and cabanas. Your feedback is important to us so please let us know how you feel as we are excited with the change! This is the first phase of the Club’s 2018 furniture replacement plan throughout the club…the Clubhouse is next on our radar! Please take note of the new pool hours as it opens at 8am and now will close each night at 8pm. Pool Snack Bar Food service (and food deliveries from the Clubhouse) will begin on Wednesday, May 30. If you would like to order food while you’re at the pool during the month of May, you may place a call to the Clubhouse using the pool phone, and we ask that you pick up the food yourself at the Club concierge desk. Beverage service begins on Wednesday, May 2 with the following hours: 11am to 5pm (with hours extending to 6pm from June through Labor Day). With this wonderful weather now upon us, we expect a very active and vibrant season on the grounds. As such, we ask that you remember safety should be considered a priority for all us so we ask that you drive extra safe and observe the posted speed limits signs. And finally, please be sure to remember that all golf carts on property must be driven by someone with a valid driver’s license and observe the maximum occupant limits at all times. ZACH MAKILAN WINS AT BERKELEY CC WITH A 66!Mayacama First Assistant Golf Professional, Zach Makilan, shoots 6-under par, 66 to win the NCPGA Assistant Apprentice Medal Play & Match Play Qualifier at Berkeley Country Club. He made 2 eagles, 5 birdies, and only 3 bogeys on his round. This is Zach’s second victory of the year, having tied for 1st at Ruby Hill with a 2-under par 70! He is currently ranked 4th on the NCPGA Player of the Year Standings. Zach’s next event is the NCPGA Match Play Championship, where the first two Matches are played at Corral de Tierra, the third and fourth Matches are at Pasatiempo, the Semi-Finals are played at the historic Cypress Point Club, and the Final Match is at Pebble Beach! The winner of the NCPGA Match Play Championship earns a PGA Tour exemption to the Barracuda Championship at Montreaux Golf Club in Reno, Nevada. Keep up the great playing Zach! MAYACAMA WINS NCGA NORTH BAY CHAMPIONSHIPThe Mayacama Team, made up of Paul Puccioni, Paul Balatti, Rick Herbert, and Ted Simpkins, carded a final round 11-under par, 129 to finish with a two-day total of 24-under, 258. They qualify for the NCGA Zone Championships scheduled for August 27-28 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill. Well played gentlemen, and best of luck at the NCGA Zone Championships in August! Friday, May 11 Come and get fit for the #1 ball in golf. When you play a golf ball that is properly fit for your game, your shot execution will improve and you will shoot lower scores. The fitting process begins with an assessment of your game, your performance objectives, and your personal preferences. Next is the On Course Evaluation, where the Green to Tee fitting process involves an evaluation of all shots on the golf course, with the greatest emphasis placed on shots into and around the green. Lastly is to play the golf ball you’ve been fitted for exclusively.
