Please join us again this year for our complimentary Women’s Golf Clinics every Thursday during the month of May. This is a great way to remove the rust from our wet and rainy winter to improve your skills in all aspects of the game, from putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, and long game. The clinic is scheduled at 10:00 am and will last approximately 90 minutes. Participants should register in advance by calling the Golf Shop at 707-569-2915. Mayacama Golf Professional Ted Antonopoulos is heading back across the country to officiate in his second major of the year! The PGA Championship will be held at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York, where Brooks Koepka will look to defend his title. Bethpage has hosted two U.S. Opens, the first won by Tiger Woods in 2002, and later by Lucas Glover in 2009. 

Our Annual Match Play Championship identifies the three best Champions at Golf’s oldest format…Match Play! The Champions of the three flights, the Women’s Flight, Men’s Mayacama Flight (played with full handicap) and Men’s Championship (played at scratch) all receive Championship Medals and a coveted seat at the Annual Champions Dinner in August. Entries are now open on the Mayacama Members Website.

The Mayacama PGA Jr. League Program is ready for registrations! There is still plenty of room for your junior golfer to join the team. The Mayacama Professional Staff will conduct organized team practice sessions to improve skills and techniques. Juniors will play a two-person scramble match against the other teams in our league to put those skills to the test. There are six teams in our league this year, so we won’t have a home and away match against every team. Whether we are home, or away, we will only play each team once.

This fun, free and nationwide youth golf development initiative invites boys and girls, ages 7-15, to participate in local qualifying opportunities in all 50 states throughout the months of May, June, July, and August. Entrants will play in girls’ and boys’ divisions in four age categories, with scoring centered around golf’s three fundamental skills – driving, chipping, and putting. Top performers at the local level will advance through sub-regional and regional qualifiers in July/August and September/October, respectively at several of the nation’s most acclaimed venues and championship sites. From these qualifiers, 80 finalists – 40 boys and 40 girls – will earn an invitation to compete in the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday, April 5, the eve of the 2020 Masters Tournament!
