Autumn is one of the most beautiful times of the year to visit Mayacama. The crisp air, golden leaves and sweet smells of the harvest surround us. The magical month of October will start out with a Champagne and Cheese pairing for the First Friday Pour. We then head into Fall Aeration October 8th - 11th, reopening Friday, October 12th with new Fall Menus in the Bar & Grill which we are excited to introduce to you! To round out the month we have an Exclusive Farm to Table Event at La Crema on October 20th and we are hosting our Great Pumpkin Festival on October 27th! It is going to be a great month at the Club and we hope you can join us!

First Friday Pour: Laurent-Perrier

As a reminder, the Course & Club will be closed Monday, October 8th through Thursday, October 11th for Fall Aeration. We appreciate your patience as this important work is completed on the course. Both the Course & Clubhouse will reopen on Friday, October 12th for normal use.

GREAT PUMPKIN FESTIVAL
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27 | 1:00 - 4:00pm

Come in costume and join the witches, goblins, ghosts and fairies for our Great Pumpkin Festival! It will be a fun filled day featuring our very own Mayacama pumpkin patch, scarecrow building contest, carnival games such as pumpkin bowling, toxic waste toss, putt putt pumpkin golf and tasty Halloween treats specially created by our Chef. Costumes are encouraged for all ages. You won't want to miss out on this Spooktacular Family Day at Mayacama!

Women's Member-Guest Results

There were 19 teams competing in the 2018 Women’s Member-Guest Tournament! This fun two day format keeps growing the size of our field, and we are hopeful that we can get up to 30 teams next year. On the first day, players enjoyed a friendly 2-person scramble using the stableford point system, followed by a fun welcome reception with games, trunk shows, and amazing wines. The format for the second round is four-ball stroke play using the stableford point system. These formats help identify the best Member-Guest team, and still keep it fun for golfers of all skill levels. So please share with your friends how much fun you had playing in the 2018 Women’s Member-Guest!

NOR-CAL NICKLAUS CUP MATCHES

We joined the Members from the Tahoe Mountain Club and Montreaux to compete for the Nor-Cal Nicklaus Cup! We played two rounds in beautiful Tahoe at Old Greenwood. The format was a friendly four-ball, using the stableford point system. The home team took advantage of their local knowledge and won the cup by only 4 points. Each year these matches have been played, the home team has taken the top honors. We would like to keep that trend going when we get the opportunity to host. Thank you to those that played and supported these matches!

If you are a Member of another golf club, we encourage you to invite the Golf Professional from that club to play as your partner. If not, Mayacama Golf Club will be pleased to pair our Members with a local Golf Professional. Our Professional-Member Invitational is the last of our “Majors” for the year and it has become one of our most popular events at the Club!

Welcome Christine!

Mayacama Spa welcomes our newest addition to the Massage Therapy team, Christine Savard!

Christine was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Sonoma County in her mid-twenties. She fell in love with the relaxed atmosphere and stunning landscape. As a graduate of Sebastopol Massage Center, combined with 18 years of health care service, her massages are a blend of many modalities and specialty techniques. She enjoys utilizing Deep Tissue, Swedish, Trigger Point, Lymphatic, and Sports Massage to address most any client’s needs. Christine enjoys customizing each session by focusing on areas of muscle tension and tenderness that are causing discomfort or pain such as shoulder cuff injuries, sciatic pain, headaches, low back pain, etc. Whether it’s through problem solving or relaxation, she truly enjoys helping others to feel their best.

Away from Mayacama, Christine has a vibrant personal life. “I might be doing artwork, facilitating a women’s support group, practicing yoga, going for long walks with family or friends, or playing my blues harmonica!” – Christine S.

dAN DOBAR - FACILITIES DIRECTOR

Dan has been working at Mayacama for just over two years as our Facilities Director, he makes sure everything around the Club is in proper working order! He grew up in Los Angeles and has been working in construction for 30 years and in hospitality for 10.

Dan enjoys working at Mayacama because of his amazing team members. He also feels grateful each morning driving through the gates to work on such a beautiful property.

In his free time he enjoys golf, boating and traveling with his wife and son who is in his junior year at San Diego State University.

Dan was one of our employees who played an instrumental part in making sure everyone was safely evacuated from the Club last October and we thank him dearly for his efforts.

CONCEPCIóN HERNANDEZ  - DISHWASHER

Concepcion has been with Mayacama for more than six years. She works in the kitchen washing dishes and helping with food prep. She enjoys working under Executive Chef Scott Pikey as well as the entire kitchen staff. Everyone makes her job an enjoyable one.

When she's off-the-clock she loves to spend time with her family and two daughters. She also likes to explore new places, whether in Sonoma County or farther away on vacation.

VILLA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Construction of the four additional Villas has been moving along steadily. The tile roofing is currently being completed and the final color layer of stucco is underway! We anticipate the first of four Villas to be available by Late Fall 2018.
