Dear Residence Members,
First and foremost we hope you and your family are well and finding creative ways to stay busy and are making the best of these trying times.
This update is specific to the residence club members and addresses our plans to reopen as soon as county guidelines permit. We anticipate the county reducing restrictions on outdoor activities such as golf and we plan to open the course within the next week or two when that order is amended. We do not expect county guidelines to permit “transient use” which is how they define the nightly stays in the residence club, so the residences and all clubhouse and common area facilities will be closed until further notice.
The plan as it currently stands will be to tie the opening of the residences to county approval to open the clubhouse and other indoor facilities. We are hopeful that at that same time we will be allowed to provide basic food and beverage services under updated health and safety practices. The return of these basic services and amenities will ensure that the club can meet the high standard of service we seek to provide to our members and guests.
WHEN CAN WE EXPECT TO RETURN
There is still a great deal of uncertainty as to what a rolling restart looks like however we are hopeful that by early June we can begin to open additional facilities including residences.
MONTHLY DUES ADJUSTMENT
Due to the residences closure and the inability for members to access the residences we are reducing the monthly cost by 50% until we are able to reopen. The balance of your dues are going towards the fixed costs of insurance, taxes, utilities and basic labor still employed to maintain the residences and have us prepared to open when the order is lifted. We have also upgraded the WiFi on all the residences while they have been offline and hope you enjoy enhanced speed and better calling features when you return.
FUTURE RESERVATIONS AND PRIORITY NUMBERS
Many of you have inquired about your priority number specifically as it relates to popular events. We will do everything possible to ensure that members are not penalized in making reservations for these events when they return and will keep priority vacations in line with what would have occurred throughout this calendar year.
HEALTH AND SAFTEY PRACTICES
Mayacama has always had very strict health and safety practices and we are extremely confident in our staff’ ability to adjust to new standards relating to Covid 19. Mayacama will not only adhere to the updated guidelines mandated from the state and county but will ensure very strict controls on both staff, members and guests regarding safety and social distancing measures. You can be sure the residences will meet this high standard during each and every visit.
As a final note and special thank you to those of you who have donated to the employee and caddie funds, it has been a welcome relief to the staff and they are incredibly touched by the generosity of our membership.
We look forward to welcoming you back soon and for those who can drive here and will be enjoying golf in the near future we look forward to seeing you.
Warm Regards,

Jonathan Wilhelm
