Mayacama Golf Club to Host the Trans-Mississippi Four-Ball ChampionshipSEPTEMBER 17 - 20, 2018We wish to remind our Members about the Trans-Mississippi Four-Ball coming to Mayacama Golf Club this September. We are excited to host some of the best Mid-Amateur and Senior Amateur players in the USA for this Championship. And among those included in the field are several Mayacama Golf Club Members, led by Mark Mance, a Board Member of the Trans Mississippi Golf Association. When first approached about the possibility of Mayacama as a venue for this storied championship, Mark guaranteed that the event would attract a competitive field of players, and that has come to fruition. In the field are several Mid and Senior Amateur Champions who have won on both sides of the Atlantic. And joining Mance in competing with those great players are several Mayacama Members, including many of our own Club Champions. The championship will be contested over 54 holes of four-ball stroke play with three (3) divisions; Championship, Senior and Super Senior. Each division will play from separate tees/yardages and separate champions will be recognized in each division. Mid-Amateur entries are open to male amateur golfers who have reached their 25th birthday on or before the first round of competition. Teams must have a combined USGA handicap index of 10.0 or less. The Senior division is open to male amateur golfers who have reached their 55th birthday on or before the first round of competition. Teams must have a combined USGA handicap index of 14.0 or less. The Super Senior division is open to male amateur golfers who have reached their 65th birthday on or before the first round of competition. Teams must have a combined USGA handicap index of 16.0 or less.
The Trans-Mississippi Golf Association joins the USGA, the AJGA, and the Northern California PGA in selecting Mayacama Golf Club as a venue for conducting one of their prestigious Championships. We are honored and enthusiastic to welcome these great players to our Club as they compete for the Trans-Mississippi Four-Ball Title. Since our inception, we have supported the game and Amateur Golf in particular, and are excited about the prospect of welcoming some of the best Amateurs in the country to our Club for this great amateur championship. We are proud of our position as one of America's Top 100 Club, and hosting the Trans-Mississippi Four-Ball goes a long way towards securing our place in the game among those clubs supporting the game and Amateur Golf. It's what good clubs do! We encourage you to be a part of the Championship, either as a player, a volunteer, or a spectator as we watch the best take on the challenge that is Mayacama Golf Club.
