WINE OFFER
32 Winds Wine Offer

Represented by the symbol of a navigational wind rose, 32 Winds began as owner Ed Mascarin set out on a journey. Born and raised in a farming region of Central California, Ed is the 3rd generation of vineyard managers and winery workers in his large Italian family. In pursuit of a dream to return to his roots, Ed, together with his daughter Mia, brought this vision to life, creating the finest wines from legendary Sonoma County and Napa Valley.

Winemaker Matt Taylor, an invaluable addition to the small family-owned operation, oversees the vineyards and vinification. Taylor’s impressive career spans the globe and includes wineries Domain Dujac and Araujo. His knowledge of winemaking and vineyards are the perfect fit to build on 32 Wind’s vision.

Quality, individual growth, friendship, and good times are all cultivated at their foundation. They take this to heart with the vinification of their beautiful wines, the shared experiences that surround them, and the friendships they forge. These values, along with their stewardship of the land, are at their core.

32 Winds produces approximately 2,500 cases per year of award-winning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel. Their hand-selected vineyards are located in the AVA’s of Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley, Napa Valley, and Dry Creek Valley.

The Wines

2017 Sauvignon Blanc, Dry Creek Valley
The grapes for the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc are sourced from friends and vineyard neighbors at West Wines to the east of their Dry Creek winery. Dry Creek produces some of the county’s best Sauvignon Blanc due to the diurnal nature of the valley’s cool, crisp mornings and warm, cloudless afternoons. Aromas of Meyer lemon, green apple, white peach, and grapefruit lead into beautiful flavors of melon and kiwi on the mid-palate, and a hint of floral spice toward the finish. It is driven by its firm acidity and an interesting salinity that works to balance the ample fruit. The wine was fermented in 60% concrete and 40% neutral French Oak.

2016 Chardonnay, Spinnaker, Sonoma Coast
The 2016 Spinnaker Chardonnay is a blend of one of their favorite vineyards, the Lucky Well in the hills of West Sonoma County, and the Don Miguel Vineyard of Green Valley. While both vineyards are located in the chilly southwestern corner of the Russian River Valley, the warmer climate of the Lucky Well drives beautiful fruit character and the chill of the Green Valley provides structure. This voluptuous Chardonnay has a balanced weight without the heaviness. Complex and age-worthy, full of captivating texture with a sublime lift of freshness throughout. Golden delicious apples, white peaches and lemon curd with a hint of guava.

2016 Pinot Noir, Maestro, Sonoma Coast
The 2016 Maestro Pinot Noir is a blend of fruit from three vineyards: the Lucky Well vineyard to the west of the town of Occidental and the Springhill and Moonshine Vineyards in the central reach of the Russian River Valley. This wine is a gorgeous garnet in color with an earthy meatiness on the nose. Spicy berry welcomes you with sweet juicy Santa Rosa plum sliding in along with dark Hudson cherry and ripe strawberry. Hints of clove and anise roll throughout from first taste to a silky finish.

2015 Pinot Noir, Lucky Well, Sonoma Coast
The vineyard itself lies in the rolling hills approximately 3 miles to the north of Occidental and just a few miles inland from the Pacific Ocean on the "true" Sonoma Coast. The vineyard is ideally located above the fog line to maximize sunlight for ripening, but in a cool enough location to ensure a long growing season - prime for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals. It is an organically dry-farmed vineyard with tightly planted vines, our vines are planted to Pommard & Swan clones. This is a beautiful dense garnet rose color with lovely pink rim variation. This wine begins with raspberry and warming notes of cherry pie, baked cranberry and blackberry cobbler. The finish is vibrant and focused due to its bright acidity. Delicious!

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, Diamond Mountain, Napa Valley
The 2012 Cabernet is made from a historic single vineyard atop Diamond Mountain in northern Napa Valley. This single vineyard is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and is planted at 2100 feet. The original vineyard was planted back in 1895. The vineyard does not produce a high volume of fruit; instead the lower yielding vines produce much more concentrated, powerful intense fruit, exactly what you need for a great cabernet. The wine displays notes of wild blackberries and blueberries, crème de cassis, licorice, nutmeg and cocoa with wonderful grippy, fine-grained tannins.

2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, The Admiral, Napa Valley
Their flagship wine, the 2010 Cabernet 'Admiral' , demonstrates flavors and aromas of black cherries, espresso, black currants, cassis and dark cocoa. It has well integrated tannins, a great mineral backbone and bright acidity. This is a powerful wine with excellent aging potential.
