Back in 1996, as latter-day pioneers in the Russian River Valley, Dumol had the privilege to plant and partner with many of the most distinctive cool-climate vineyards in this magical wine-growing region. Over the years, they discovered inspiring, singular sites beyond the Russian River Valley that translate into their diverse portfolio of small-lot wines.

Now, more than 20 years later, they continuously hone their farming and their craft, working as precisely and honestly as they can to translate each vineyard’s “site signature” into wines of depth, intricacy, and tremendous purity – a blend of Californian depth and European clarity.

The DuMol goal is a lightness of touch, an intimacy with the fruit…a fluidity. They want to capture the feeling they get from having worked with a site for decades.

At DuMol there is a fully integrated approach to farming and winemaking, a seamless continuum. Each bottling is built in the vineyard. Soil types, microclimates, plant material, maturity levels, how the vines react to the growing conditions, how they react to the vines – there are so many detailed variables. The nuance, the depth and complexity of the fruit that results from those variables – that’s what they aim to achieve and translate to bottle: purity, vibrancy, freshness – intensity without heaviness.

The Wine Advocate 93 Points // Coming from the Ritchie vineyard in Russian River Valley, the 2016 Chardonnay Chloe opens with tropical scents of pineapple and guava plus hints of honeydew melon, allspice and acacia honey. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with bold exotic fruit flavors packaged in a seductively oily texture, delivering just enough freshness and a long spicy finish.

2016 DuMOL • Chardonnay Isobel Charles Heintz Vineyard, Sonoma Coast
The Wine Advocate 95+ Points // The 2016 Isobel from the Charles Heintz Vineyard sings of fresh grapefruit, Bosc pears and honeyed peaches scents with sparks of lemon curd, chalk dust, mandarin peel and lime leaves notions. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers loads of citrus fruit and floral layers with a racy acid line and satiny texture, finishing on a lingering yeasty/toasty note.

The Wine Advocate 95 Points // The 2016 Clare comes from the Hyde vineyard in Carneros, planted to Old Wente clone vines that are now over 20 years old. Ripe grapefruit, white peaches and lemon curd scents leap flamboyantly from the glass with wafts of orange blossoms, struck match, fresh ginger and coriander seed plus a touch of chalk dust. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with citrus and stone fruit layers with loads of spicy sparks and a beautiful satiny texture, finishing very long and mineral laced.
