Wren Hop Vineyards had its humble beginning in 2008 when winegrower James McDonough and his father teamed together to create a single barrel of unreleased Pinot Noir from their Russian River Valley estate vineyard. The result was a silky, layered black cherry explosion stuffed with spice and fine-grained tannin. Many pulled corks later and in true start-up fashion Wren Hop Vineyards was born. Jim and his father set out to produce limited production, vineyard specific Pinot Noir and Chardonnay created in an opulent, complex, muscular style.

Organic farming practices, specific clonal selection, detailed sorting, extended cold soaks and a 100% new French Oak barrel program all play a role in these full-bodied wines of supreme power. In collaboration with their talented Winemaker, Dan Fishman, and dedicated Vineyard Manager Ryan Maier, the McDonough’s have taken Wren Hop into a stratosphere all on its own. The wines are focused, distinct, and truly stand out among other Russian River Valley bottlings.

That all being said, it is my pleasure to present to you this exclusive offer of 3 separate limited production Wren Hop bottlings – 2018 Black Sheep Pinot Noir (94 cases produced), 2018 Ghost Story Pinot Noir (120 cases produced), and 2016 Shadow Voices Pinot Noir (245 cases produced).

Each wine is expressive in its own right but captures the essence of what Wren Hop represents.
