This month we are looking forward to the second wine dinner of the year, kicking off the first kids' camps of the summer, as well as the inaugural Junior Member-Guest. Upcoming Club Events

First Friday Pour: Dutcher Crossing

Friday, June 3 | 5 - 6:30 p.m.

We are excited to welcome Dutcher Crossing for our June First Friday Pour. The pour is an excellent opportunity to experience the beautiful wines our Vintner Members produce, as well as a chance to socialize with your fellow Members.

Red Car Wine Dinner

Thursday, June 16 | 6 - 9 p.m.

We are excited to invite you to our second wine dinner of the year! Join us for an intimate evening featuring fantastic cool-climate Sonoma Coast Chardonnay & Pinot Noir, and Syrah paired with an exquisite four-course menu prepared by Executive Chef Robert Leva. As you enjoy the night, Winemaker Tanner Scheer and founders Richard & Alison Crowell will guide you through an exploration of each wine.

Mini-Mudder Camp & Race

June 8 - 10 & 11 | 10:00 am - 4 pm

Back by popular demand, this is the 5th year of the Mini-Mudder Camp, and it just keeps getting better. Your kids get to build their very own racecourse and create their own obstacles! On Saturday, parents get to watch the children race through the course and cheer them on. During this camp, we teach the kids to work together to build bigger and better things and encourage each other when getting dirty may not be their thing. This is a camp to let kids be kids and get muddy!

Ages 5 - 12, $375++ per child

Kids' Camp: Build-a-Boat

June 22 - 24 | 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

During this camp, kids will learn how to build a cardboard boat to race in the pool! Sign up now to have a fun-filled week at the pool with Activities Director Dawn and her team.

Kids' Camp: All Star Games Galore

June 29 - July 1 | 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Whether it's throwing the football, dribbling a basketball, or kicking soccer balls, the kids will be playing all sorts of games and sports with the Activities Team during the All Star Games Galore camp!

Ages 5 - 12, $375++ per child

Tennis Update

Tennis is back in session and Tennis Pro Ryan Olson is excited for the summer!

Tennis Clinics

Saturdays: 9 - 10:30 a.m./ Levels 4.0-4.5

A high level clinic where the ball will be moving! Come join for doubles strategy, play and technique.

Sundays: 9 - 10:30 a.m. / Levels 3.0-3.5

A clinic for the player looking to improve! We will go over doubles strategy and technique to add weapons to your game!

$40 per person (max 6 people)

Kid's Clinics

Wednesday - Friday: 9 - 10 a.m.
$30 per child, Ages 5 - 10

Tennis Open House - Sunday, June 5

Kick-off the summer right and come meet our Tennis Pro Ryan while we celebrate the French Open finals with some active Live-Ball tennis with fellow members! Followed by fruit and champagne while you watch the finals at the Pool Bar afterwards! White attire encouraged. Please RSVP for this event online. (18 and over only, please). This is a great chance to meet other Members who are involved in Tennis and hear about the full summer program!

Reserving a Court

Finally, please don’t forget to reserve your court online. All courts are to be reserved (no earlier than seven days in advance) through the online reservation system on the Mayacama website or the Mayacama Club App (including pickleball/ sport court). Note: Member must be present on the court for use. For special requests or multiple court bookings, please contact Ryan directly.

Note: Pickleball equipment available to borrow from Concierge.

Vintner Cup Results Image Caddie Member Champions

Congratulations to Devil Proof Vineyards for winning the 2022 Vintner Cup Championship. Captained by Vintner Member David Klaudt, along with Kirk Lincoln, and Thomas & Kim Cooper, their score of 32 under par tied for first place with the team from 32 Winds and they would eventually prevail in the scorecard playoff.

Mayacama Flight Champion Justin Richardson, Women's Flight Champion Lisa French, and Championship Flight Champion Nick Egide

In the Men’s Championship Flight, we had 11 players competing for the Mayacama Cup Match Play Championship. This Flight is played at scratch from the Back Tee Markers, and the Championship Match is 36 holes to determine our Champion. There was a full field of 32 players in the Mayacama Flight, where five matches were played over five days from the Middle Tees using your Course Handicap. A total of 31 matches were played to determine the Champion of the Mayacama Flight. Ten Women competed for our Women’s Division from the Forward tees using their full course handicap to determine our Women’s Match Play Champion. Congratulations to the winners!

Inaugural Junior Member-Guest

Saturday & Sunday, June 11 & 12

There are still spots open for this inaugural tournament! All Mayacama juniors are cordially invited to compete in the Inaugural Junior Member-Guest! We aim to bring excitement and fun to the Club by bringing friends and family together through a unique Championship. Families must register their players on the Members Only Website by June 1, 2022. Verbal and Telephone entries cannot be accepted.

Saturday & Sunday, June 24 & 25 | 9:00 a.m. Shotgun Start

You are cordially invited to participate in the Mayacama Member-Member Four-Ball Match Play Tournament on Friday and Saturday, June 24 & 25. For the 2022 Member-Member, we will continue with the 9-hole Match Play format, but will introduce all three forms of match play; Four-Ball, Foursome and Singles Match Play. This is a great way to meet your fellow Members and enjoy playing 5 nine-hole matches with everyone in your flight. There will be much to celebrate during the Member-Member...food, wine, prizes, and getting together with your fellow Members to enjoy a fun and exciting match play tournament. We hope to see you there!

Junior Golf Camp: Drive, Chip & Putt

June 29 - July 1 | 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Join Mayacama Instructors for a three-day golf camp that aims to prepare Juniors to compete in the Drive, Chip, and Putt National Championship played at Augusta National Golf Club. After basic calisthenics each day, Juniors will learn and improve their driving, chipping and putting techniques. On the last day of camp, we will conduct a Driving Competition, a Chipping Competition, and a Putting Competition for the various age groups. After all three competitions have been completed, the Juniors leading their age group will be named Mayacama’s Drive, Chip, and Putt Camp Overall Champion! Open to the first 30 Juniors to sign up.

Junior Golf Bootcamp

July 20 - 22 | 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

All Mayacama Juniors are invited to join Mayacama Instructors Zach Makilan, Brooks Bultemeier, and Sean O'Shea for a three-day golf school, boot camp style! After basic calisthenics each day, Juniors will learn full swing, putting, chipping and pitching techniques, along with golf etiquette and rules of golf. The last day of the camp will include the Putting Championship and 5-Hole Scramble Tournament, followed by an Awards Luncheon for cadets and their parents. Open to the first 30 cadets who sign up.

Mayacama Qualifies for the NCGA Zone Championships

The NCGA Zone Championship is a four-person team event where fourteen regional championships are staged, with the champion and runner-up qualifying for the final championship. The team from Mayacama, with Rick Herbert, Ted Simpkins, Jim Silveira, and Paul Puccioni, have qualified for the Zone Championships at Poppy Hills and Spyglass on August 22-23, 2022. Congratulations to team Mayacama for their outstanding play, and best of luck during the NCGA Zone Championship!
